Stavros Niarchos Foundation Fellows

Feb 6, 2012

With the primary goal of supporting talented doctorate holders and encouraging both international research and innovative curriculum development, the Columbia Global Centers has created a new post-doctoral fellowship program from 2012-2014: the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) Fellows.

Made possible by a grant from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation and in an effort to address concerns that the current socioeconomic crisis in Greece may lead to the loss of a whole generation of excellent young scholars, these fellowships are open to Greek nationals with recent doctoral degrees from European universities. The will allow Fellows to spend two years in residence at the Columbia Global Centers│Europe (CGC│E) at Reid Hall in Paris.

The fellowship program was conceived and initiated by Victoria de Grazia, Moore Collegiate Professor of History and Director of the Blinken European Institute, and Mark Mazower, Ira D. Wallach Professor of History and Director of the Heyman Center for the Humanities. SNF Fellows will carry out their own research, liaise with other scholars and gain teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
